The Web has resulted in some very bad publishing habits. One of the worst is borrowed from software design: publish it fast and fix the mistakes later.
I'd go further as to say that web publishing is as technically complex as publishing a book or a newspaper, it simply doesn't yet have the history. As such, I've never seen a book project imparted to the printer because it's too technical, although it does happen in the web publishing arena!
